This year has been filled with so many fun adventures already! For Christmas we received an annual membership to the Houston Zoo. We've gone three times so far, and love spending time there. Plus, parking is free! Can't complain about that! We have gone twice with my sister-in-law, Vanessa, and her kids. Here are some pictures I took of Kaitlyn and I.

I like this picture because I got our reflection and the sea otter all together!

In February, Andrew took me to a ward Valentine's Dance. Since Andrew doesn't like dancing, this was a big deal to me. I got all did up (curled my hair, cute outfit, and such), and so did he (he didn't curl his hair.). Here's a couple of pictures.
|
Funny story here. I decided to wear my black stiletto heels, and Andrew's parents thought it looked country (maybe because they were pointy toed?) so, they offered to let Andrew borrow his dad's cowboy boots. To my surprise, he said yes. I loved it!
Also for Valentines Day, I made up a little scavenger hunt for Andrew. There were clues (they had to rhyme of course) that led him to different places in the house and in each of those places there was a treat waiting for him. It was fun to follow him around as he found each clue and treat. I don't have a picture of this, but he got me some beautiful flowers!

In the beginning of March, we went to the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo. It was lots of fun! My mom and sister, Andrea came from Chicago to go with us. We had an extra ticket, so my sister-in-law, Vanessa, came too. Our first top at the Rodeo was the food tents. Andrew ordered a giant Turkey leg. This had always been a dream of his, and it was amazing. We ordered our food just before heading to the stadium for the rodeo/concert. Little did we know, food was not permitted in the stadium. So, Andrew tried to down his gigantic turkey leg in a matter of minutes. The thing was huge, so it could have taken him over an hour to eat. We all tried to help him finish it.
Here are some other pictures from the night.

Muttin Bustin'! My favorite event. 5 and 6 year old ride on sheep until they fall off. The sheep are booking it, so I imagine it would be hard to stay on. Pretty funny to watch. We'll be training Kaitlyn for this in a few years. ;)

There they are! It was such a good show!
Here's the update on Kaitlyn. She is cuter and more fun than ever! Lately, she has loved making all sorts of funny faces.
She loves playing with her cousin Colton, who is just one month older than she is. They follow each other around,
steal share toys back and forth, and trade pacifiers on a regular basis. Its fun to watch them interact.

Also, Kaitlyn has taken a liking to the elliptical machine we have upstairs. I wish I loved it as much as she does.
She sure is one cute kid! Earlier this month, she weighed in at 21 lbs and measured 28 inches (I think). She now has seven teeth and still has hardly any hair. She is so anxious to walk, but lacks the confidence to try on her own. She loves reading books and exploring the house. We love her!
