Well, the last two weeks have been challenging, but wonderful. Kaitlyn was having a hard time sleeping at all unless she was being held. Grandma Butler was such a big help while she was here for much of that time. I was pretty overwhelmed with the thought of her leaving, but we just took it one night at a time, and we're doing it! We've figured out that Kaitlyn will sleep great if she's not in her bed. She's been sleeping in her car seat at night instead, and she only wakes to up twice each night to eat and get her diaper changed. It's wonderful. Speaking of sleep, when she is sleeping, she makes the cutest noises! Little squeaks and sighs. Also, she smiles in her sleep - just for a second or two. Here's a pic...
She and I have a lot of fun during the day.... while she's not sleeping...which is rare. I love giving her baths, putting her on her tummy, and going on walks with her. She is so adorable. She is growing so fast too! She is already growing out of some of her newborn clothes, and those newborn diapers are getting pretty snug! Andrew has been a great father and loves to hold her and change her diaper whenever he can. We just love this little girl!
I'm glad it's getting easier for you! That's great that she is doing better at night. James and Owen both slept in their car seats the first few months. I think it helps a lot with gas and air bubbles. She is so cute! I love her little smile in her sleep. It was good to see you for a bit a few weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteKaitlyn is basically the cutest newborn ever! We can't wait to see her again. It sounds like life is a little less... tiresome. :)
