So, this comes a little late, but here is my 37 1/2 week picture! It's the last one we took before the big day.
We had a Dr. appointment on 4/1 when the doctor said that we could have the baby any time starting the following week. I was a little surprised by that, but excited too. The next Dr. appointment was on4/11 , and everything was looking good. I was dialated tp 2.5 cm and 80% effaced. Pretty exciting!
On Wednesday morning, I though my water might have broken. We went to the hospital and were turned away....kind of disappointing. Later that day around noon, I started having some minor contractions. I decided to time them and they started out at 9 mins apart and progressed to about 4-6 min apart. The didn't feel that intense, so I decided to wait till Andrew came home to make any decisions. Andrew got off work at about 6 pm, and by then I was really having to breathe through the contractions, still about 4-6 mins apart. I wanted to get some dinner, so we went to the ward activity and ate J Dawgs...yum! We decided to leave early and went home and packed up the car and headed to the hospital.
When we got there, they monitored me for an hour and said they'd have to see what the doctor thought in regards to if I could be committed to the hospital or not. I wasn't really progressing as fast as they wanted me to. They gave me some pain meds to see if that would help the contractions to get me to progress. They came back to check me 30 mins later, and decided that I could stay. Yay! I dialated about a cm per hour, until I got to 6 cm. Then I dialated 4 cm in an hour and was ready to push! I pushed for about 30 min, and low and behold, Kaitlyn Rae was born!! She weighed in at 7 lb 12 oz and was 18.5 inches long! She is so perfect and beautiful! We love her so much and feel so blessed to have her with us.
Congrats!!! Way to go Kristin! You did it and it is so rewarding to hold her! It is also fun to have her born the 14th because my birthday is the 15th. I will always remember my little grand niece! Congrats again!
